Project Overview
CHU Ibn Sina is Morocco's foremost university hospital complex, located in the heart of Rabat. As one of the largest and most complex healthcare facilities in North Africa, the CHU Ibn Sina serves as both a major regional medical centre and a teaching hospital affiliated with the Mohammed V University Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The project involves significant renovation works and extensions to the existing hospital campus, aiming to modernise facilities, expand capacity, and improve care pathways across multiple medical departments. The scale and complexity of the intervention — spanning multiple buildings of varying ages and construction systems — demands rigorous BIM coordination to manage the full breadth of architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
Given the operational nature of the hospital during works, BIM methodology plays a critical role in managing phasing, clash detection, and design coordination to minimise disruption to ongoing medical activities.
